Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator (LSLRCC) – A free multilingual tool advancing equitable and climate-resilient drinking water infrastructure

Anthony Ross

Founder and Director at Environmental & Public Health International

Chicago, United States

About

The Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator (LSLRCC) is a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)-recognized free, multilingual digital tool that helps municipalities, utilities, and Tribal governments estimate and model the costs of replacing lead service lines. It has supported over $3 billion in user-generated modeling based on anonymous web analytics.

The LSLRCC supports compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) and promotes equitable, transparent, and climate-resilient drinking water infrastructure planning.

The tool aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Clean Water (SDG 6), Good Health (SDG 3), Sustainable Cities (SDG 11), Climate Action (SDG 13), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).

By combining cost modeling with environmental justice and sustainability principles, the LSLRCC helps governments and communities secure safe drinking water for all.
