Panel Discussion I: AI and Digital Skills: from policy to tools

  • Background

Many countries have national AI strategies, but industries still face a digital skills gap - a shortage of engineers and workers trained to use AI tools on the factory floor. This panel addresses how to translate high-level policies into practical training and education.

  • Objective

To identify strategies for building workforce capability so that employees at all levels can implement and benefit from AI. The panel will share examples of successful upskilling initiatives and partnerships for developing talent.

  • Expected outcomes

Recommendations for public–private collaboration on digital skills and actionable ideas to help small businesses access expertise.

  • Key topics

Bridging the policy-implementation gap; modernizing technical and vocational education; company best practices in upskilling; including women and youth in AI training programs.
