AIRA Holding GmbH is a Germany-based startup founded in 2023 to advance the use of artificial intelligence for fair, ecological, and regenerative purposes. We develop technology-specific machine learning solutions with a focus on production process optimization across laboratory, demonstration, and industrial environments. Our approach is practical and domain-driven: instead of applying generic AI tools, we build models tailored to the technical realities of specific processes, plants, and production systems. This includes supporting faster learning cycles in R&D, improving process stability and efficiency, reducing waste and resource use, and enabling better data-informed decisions in scale-up and operations. AIRA works at the intersection of AI/ML, industrial production, and sustainability-oriented transformation. We are particularly interested in applications where process optimization can contribute to measurable ecological benefits and long-term regenerative outcomes. At the same time, we emphasize fairness in collaboration, including transparent data practices, responsible value creation, and trusted partnerships between stakeholders. We collaborate with partners from research and industry to design and implement explainable, fit-for-purpose ML solutions—from early feasibility and data strategy to prototyping and applied development. While our work has been illustrated through examples in the biochar sector, the AIRA approach is not limited to biochar and is designed to be transferable across multiple technology domains.
