GLOWA (Global Welfare Association) is a counter trafficking organization standing against child trafficking in Cameroon through education and training. Set-up by survivors, GLOWA is a community of lives experience that uses true life stories to create social change, protects women and children from experiencing exploitation and related abuses. Driven by its guiding principles to inform, empower and transform, GLOWA envisages a transformed society where women and children live up to their full potentials. Guided by the stories of survivors, we design appropriate community engagement tools which enables us to be a step ahead of traffickers and empower potential victims in marginalized prone communities to recognize and manage scams and ultimately reshape cultures and practices that affect children and women. GLOWAHaus our healing and empowerment facility is designed to be trauma sensitive, offering vocational training to survivors in sewing, embroidery hairdressing and shoemaking as well as psychosocial and mental health support as a vital and integral component delivered by dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
