From Belarus to China: UNIDO Unlocks Smart Industry Insights in Shanghai and Shenzhen

Shanghai & Shenzhen, China – March 10–17, 2025, In a bold step toward accelerating industrial modernization, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in partnership with the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT-CIETC), led a high-impact study tour to China’s innovation hotspots—Shanghai and Shenzhen. From March 10–17, 2025, a delegation of Belarusian stakeholders immersed themselves in the heart of China’s cutting-edge advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation. This forward-looking initiative not only spotlighted the transformative potential of Industry 4.0 technologies but also laid the groundwork for deepening international collaboration in the era of smart industry. 

Key highlights of the tour included immersive visits to tech giants such as Huawei, SenseTime, and MiniMaxi, where delegates explored groundbreaking applications of AI in industrial automation and engaged in dynamic discussions on future collaboration. The delegation also witnessed the power of academic exchange in action, with new cooperation agreements forged between the Belarusian-Russian University and Shanghai University of Engineering Science. From testing next-gen autonomous vehicles at the Shanghai Lingang Testing Zone to experiencing cutting-edge robotics at SIASUN and voice AI innovations at iFlyTech, the tour offered a front-row seat to China’s rapidly advancing AI ecosystem—sparking new ideas for economic and industrial synergy 

“This study tour represents a significant step in Belarus’s journey toward digital transformation,” said Mr. Farrukh Alimdjanov, Industrital Development officer, Divison of Digital Transformation and AI. Furthermore he stated “By engaging with China’s leading AI and technology pioneers, Belarusian stakeholders are equipped with the knowledge and partnerships necessary to drive AI-powered industrial innovation.”

As a result of this initiative, UNIDO continues to advance international cooperation in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and digital industrialization, reaffirming its commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable technological development. The study tour not only ignited meaningful partnerships but also positioned Belarus as an emerging force in the global Fourth Industrial Revolution. With new connections, insights, and opportunities now in motion, this exchange marks a pivotal step toward a smarter, more connected industrial future.
